Box of Death: Development Process

This was a game made for the Jame Gam 28. It was made in 2 days; as I forgot about the jam. I had to submit it now; as I will have no time tomorrow.

This jam was a lot of fun; and I wish to join another one later. In this post, I will provide some information as to how I made the game and what I would’ve changed in it.

What I Learned

This was the first prototype that I made. This certainly helped a lot in the project; as I actually had an idea of what to do.

I took the time to learn a little bit more C# during the jam, which will probably help me a lot in the future.

I also learned how to make really basic pixel art. All of my previous games were either made with downloaded assets or simple shapes.

What I Could’ve Changed

I would’ve added a ton more levels, as well as a level selection screen. I would have made better sound effects.

I would improve the art of the game, make the backgrounds less bland, add more items. But I don’t have time.

The Future of this Project

I do not think I will work on this game any longer. I will instead focus on other projects, but this one has helped me a lot in writing better code and making better art and sound, as well as just having fun.

This game will be for more items and levels, better art and better sound effects soon enough! I had a lot of fun making this game and I imagine it will be fun to keep the project going.

Thanks to the creators of the jam, and to whoever plays the game. Goodbye!
